New Haven, CT, July 26, 2024: Scientific Computing Associates
(SCIENTIFIC), experts in parallel and distributed computing with more
than 22 years of experience, today announced Linda for HP-UX on the
Intel® Itanium® 2-based and PA-RISC architectures.
SCIENTIFIC's Linda is a unique programming tool which allows
developers to parallelize existing applications to run efficiently on
clusters of computers.
"With the Linda programming tool, users can now run a single job in parallel
across all HP's 64-bit architectures. This allows customers to integrate
their new HP-UX Itanium 2-based systems into existing PA-RISC with HP-UX and
Alpha with Tru64 environments. We are very pleased to continue and to extend
our long-standing relationship with HP," said Beverly Thalberg, CEO and
President of Scientific Computing Associates.
"HP is pleased to be able to broaden support for Linda to include our HP-UX
Itanium 2-based and PA-RISC platforms, which form an important pillar in
HP's high performance technical computing offerings," said Steve Joachims,
Marketing and Solutions Director, HP High Performance Technical Computing
Division.
Linda, introduced in the mid-1980s, was the first commercial product to
implement virtual shared memory (VSM) for supercomputers and large
workstation/server clusters. The Linda VSM is content-addressable, not
address-based, which makes it easy to build applications, and fully utilize
hardware capacity. Cost-effectiveness, speed and ease of use are just some
of advantages Linda provides.
Worldwide distribution of Linda for HP-UX 11.0 for the Itanium® 2, PA-RISC,
and Alpha is from Scientific Computing Associates, New Haven, CT., 06510.
